v0.0.8 — automatic node software updates
Highlights
- Buddy’s own software on each worker now updates itself, instead of needing to be updated by hand. Detecting that a node is behind starts the update automatically, but it’s never silent: it shows up as a visible, running operation you can pin, pause or abort.
- The first worker updated acts as a canary. It has to come back healthy and stay online before the rest of the fleet follows.
- A worker that doesn’t come back at the right version halts the update for the rest of the fleet, rather than continuing and leaving some nodes on old software and others on new. It’s left running its old, working software, and the panel explains what to do next.
- A new Agent Update screen shows each node’s software version, the update’s progress, live logs, and the pause/abort controls.
